The Hyde Park Barracks, fit for Royalty at Queens Square Macquarie St in Sydney's historic precinct, is the perfect Sydney venue for a day trip. The magnificent World Heritage listed Hyde Park Barracks Museum is a must see for locals and visitors alike. Built in 1819 by convict architect Francis Greenway to accommodate his fellow convicts until it’s closure in 1848 the Barracks has had a variety of occupants throughout the years. From 1848 to 1886 it was an Immigration Depot for single female immigrants and then a female asylum from 1862 to 1886. From 1887 to 1979 law courts and government offices were based at the Barracks and it now operates as a museum for all to explore. 

Set in the grounds of this historic Sydney icon, sits the Hyde Park Barracks Cafe, amongst some of Sydney’s oldest and most significant buildings. Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD the Hyde Park Barracks Cafe is an oasis set in a secluded sandstone courtyard minutes away from the hustle and bustle of down town Sydney.
