The ideal Sydney venue for a day trip, the historic Hyde Park Barracks Museum is a must see. Built in 1819 by convict architect Francis Greenway to accommodate his fellow convicts until it’s closure in 1848 the Barracks has had a variety of occupants throughout the years. From 1848 to 1886 it was an Immigration Depot for single female immigrants and then a female asylum from 1862 to 1886. From 1887 to 1979 law courts and government offices were based at the Barracks and it now operates as a museum for all to explore.

Set in the World Heritage listed grounds of this magnificent Sydney icon sits the Hyde Park Barracks Cafe, among one of Sydney’s oldest and most significant buildings.

Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, the Hyde Park Barracks Cafe is like an oasis situated in a secluded and intimate courtyard, just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of down town Sydney and is the perfect venue for your next lunch function.
